Terms of service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms apply to the PolicyCare Android app ("the app"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What PolicyCare is
PolicyCare is a record-keeping tool for insurance agents to organise their customers, policies, premiums, reminders and documents. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to LIC or any insurance company. Names of insurers appear only to describe the agent's own business.
2. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for checking important details (such as premiums, due dates, maturity dates and plan rules) against your insurer's official records.
- You must have your customers' permission to store their personal information, and you must handle it in line with applicable law and your insurer's rules.
- You are responsible for keeping your phone, PIN and backup password safe. A lost backup password cannot be recovered by anyone.
- You must not use the app for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading.
3. Not advice
Calculations, summaries, reminders and plan checks in the app are aids to the agent's own work. They are not insurance, financial, tax or legal advice, and they do not replace the insurer's official documents or systems.
4. Your data
Your records belong to you and are stored on your phone. How the app handles data is explained in the privacy policy. Keep regular backups: if your phone is lost, reset or the app is uninstalled without a backup, the data cannot be recovered.
5. Subscription, trial and payments
- The app is offered as a subscription through Google Play (currently ₹199 per month or ₹1,990 per year, including applicable taxes as shown by Google Play). Prices may change; Google Play will tell you before a new price applies.
- New subscribers get a free trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription starts and renews automatically until cancelled.
- Payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Google Play under its terms. You can cancel any time in the Play Store → Payments & subscriptions.
- If the subscription ends, nothing is deleted: the app becomes read-only, and you can still view, export and back up your records.
- Founding members may be given free access at the developer's discretion.
6. Licence
You are given a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices for your insurance work. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
7. Availability and changes
The app is updated from time to time to add features, fix problems or meet Google Play requirements. Features may change or be removed. We aim to keep the app working well but do not promise it will be free of errors or always available.
8. Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, lost business or loss of data arising from use of the app, including errors in information entered or missed reminders. The developer's total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
9. Ending use
You can stop using the app at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling it. Access may be suspended if these terms are seriously breached.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in India.
11. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
